Having views Rhos United v Y Glanau in my previous game, fate would have it I watched one of the two teams again this week, in cup action. This was due to the game being drawn near to my home. The Game was Arriva Bangor who play at Menai Bridge vs Rhos United, who I watched the previous week.
Before the game, Rhos United looked focused, their goal keeper getting the players together, in the hope of motivating the team following their previous result.
The game started, Arriva Bangor, who score a large portion of their goals directly from their front line, went on the attack. Rhos United looked to deal with the threat and following a few rash challenges from their defenders seemed to cope well. They offered good pressing themselves this week and threatened the Bangor final third on a couple of early occasions, often with the final ball letting them down.
Bangor weathered the storm and hit Rhos Utd on the break, lovely 30 yard ball to the number 8 who showed a great touch and turn to go past the Rhos Utd central defender. The central defender replied with an excellent last ditch tackle but the other Rhos Utd players failed to react and it was 1-0.
2-0 followed shorlty after. Rhos United played with three central midfielders this game, where as it was two the week before. Their new central midfiedler dwelled on the ball on the right side on the the pitch, failed to then track the player who took the ball from him which allowed the Bangor player to play a ball towards their left forward, he skipped past the Rhos Utd right back who dived in and completely missed the ball as he had on previous attacks, but this time he didnt get away with it.
3-0 followed immediately after, another ball to the number 8 of Bangor who made no mistake with the finish.
4-0 was about to follow straight after once again, but the central defender brough him down from behind, last man, yellow card…
Half time had come and gone and the game turned scrappy with little in the way of quality. The number 8 form Bangor seemingly injured, caused their forward line to struggle.
Rhos pulled one back, 3-1. The goal came from a ball in to the box, a few ping pong moments but their striker kept cool and finished very well from inside the box.
Rhos Utd had one golden opportunity with their right winger missing an almost open goal but other than that the game was done.
In the first half the Rhos left back pushed high which caused more issues than solutions, but second half sat and played very well.
The captain from the previous week who played central midfield for Rhos, played very well again. One thing I wondered was their was a lot of changes from the week before for Rhos, which caused a lot of self inflicted issues, their defence attacked more of the ball but also missed the majority of these and offered little in the way of composure, which is one thing they had the week before, especially on their right side.
Arriva Bangor front line was dominant and would have put the game to bed barring the injury to their number eight who was a cut above.
Next game involves two teams I have not written about as of yet.
